Reflection Prompt: Summarize your learning for this term. How will you use the knowledge you have constructed to improve your use of technology for learning in your class and for your own personal and professional development?

Description:

Complete modules on Springboard which contain articles, chapters to read or websites and tutorials. Post discussions and reflect in this wiki on materials covered. Additionally, start planing ePortfolio and field experience.

Impact:
The course has provided me with "refreshers", new ideas and a few surprises. I have been reminded of material I have already been exposed to such as ISTE technology standards, wiki's and google docs. I have learned new ideas and concepts such as TPACK and incorporating technology into the classroom. I was surprised to learn about some of the ethical issues when using technology such as the copyright laws -- I thought I had a better understanding of them. Another surprise was the amount of work it takes to be an online instructor! I enjoyed the interaction with my classmates in the discussions I feel I have gained a lot of information and ideas from their combined experiences. Lastly, I have realized it is important to incorporate 21st century skills into my classroom while not being technocentric.

Intent:

My immediate intent is to begin to incorporate 21st century skills into my classroom, while balancing all the aspects of TPACK in my lessons. Then as I integrate all of this successfully I will work on encouraging my co-workers to increase their use of the available resources. I also plan on expanding my knowledge of web tools and software as I explore ways to expand my e-portfolio and field experiences.
